EMA Impact Brief: Symantec Tackles Common Business, IT and Legal Issues through Intelligent Information Governance Solution

Abstract: On January 23rd, 2012, Symantec (NASDAQ: SYMC) introduced "Transparent Predictive Coding" as an additional enhancement to its popular Clearwell ediscovery platform, which it acquired last summer. This news comes on the heels of other announcements by Symantec over the prior week, including the acquisition of its cloud archiving OEM Partner LiveOffice and further details regarding the integration of Clearwell with Enterprise Vault -- Symantec's flagship on-premise archiving solution. In addition, Symantec has announced it will integrate its data loss prevention (DLP) data classification engine with its archiving solutions, further unifying what have heretofore been treated as unrelated domains. These capabilities coupled with the company's backup, disaster recovery, security and storage management product suites enable Symantec to offer a compelling range of solutions to address customers' information governance challenges. |
